In The Forest - A Day of Nature to Nurture.
Oct 7, 2023 - Forest Bathing and Day of Mindfulness at Linn Run Park, Rector PA
" The community of trees - thousands of bodies with a human body among them. Branches and leaves are waving. Then the call of the creek, and my eyes open to the sky of the great Mind. A smile is seen on every leaf. "
Thich Nhat Hanh
COME JOIN US! October 7 will be a continuation of last year's very successful day of practice and fellowship in a truly beautiful setting. Our spirits can be lifted once again, and our hearts healed, with the sounds of bird call, the sweetness of pine air, and the freshness of smiles shared.
REGISTER NOW. It's FREE! but we need to know how many will attend. Please complete this Sign-Up . Thanks!
We will have 2 Groups : those engaging in Forest Bathing; and those who are practicing a more traditional Day of Mindfulness in Nature. Group schedules will overlap, but the two will unite in mid-afternoon for Sharing and songs, and together enjoy a potluck around 12:30-2:00 PM. We will end by 4:30 PM.
Martha O'Grady & Charlie Yuill will once again lead our earlier attendees in a 2.5 hour Forest Bathing experience beginning at 10:00 AM. For FREE! Thanks, Guys!! Our DOM Group will begin at the Pavilion around Noon. See our FULL SCHEDULE here.
Children are very welcome as part of our DOM Group. Chad Daversa and Margaret Mahoney are developing activities specifically for them. Indeed, the children may help us all reconnect to nature, joy and wonderment. They may be our teachers!
Linn Run State Park is about 1 hour southeast of Pittsburgh in the beautiful Laurel Highlands. We will be in the Adams Falls section, which offers a rustic, close-to-nature experience while still offering a gentle walking and meeting space with Pavilion, restrooms, water fountains and more. Here are more detailed Directions. You may also wish to download this PDF of the Park. LET'S CARPOOL! Perhaps the biggest gift we can offer Mother Nature, and one another, is to carpool. We can lower our carbon footprint; save gas; and also get to know one another better. Please consider completing this document CarPool Tool! NOTE: if you wish to carpool, please wear a mask to help protect one another. |
