Teachings from the 2016 Fall Retreat
Day 1 Dharma Talk - " The Three Pillars"  -
In this 64-minute talk,  Dharmacarya Chan Huy opens with a talk centered on the Satipatthana Sutta, The Four Establishments of Mindfulness,, as the key foundation of "The 37" core factors in the Buddha's teaching.  He also speaks of this as the Three Pillars of Thay's teachings : Joy - In the moment, For the moment, Every moment.
Day 2 Dharma Talk - " Embracing the Body, in the Body"
Looking deeply in this extended, 76-minute talk, Chan Huy shares the exercises that help us stay established in mindfulness of the body, in the body, and of how important this teaching is to bring about freedom and joy.  We look into all 32 parts of the body, breathing deeply with our feelings, awareness and insights that arise.  In. Out. Each Moment, aware of body.
Day  3 Dharma Talk - " Awareness of Our Non-Toothaches"
Lightness and laughter surround this 44-minute talk that begins with a serious awareness of suffering.  Dharmacarya Tony Silvestre opens our senses to the blessings and wonders that we often fail to notice, happening all around us. Through his wry, humorous style, Tony reminds us that Diligence is not just for "geeks", and that staying committed to our practice, daily, is the secret to Joy.
