" Be the monarch of your life and sign the decree to exile suffering and call back from all points of the universe, the power of birds and flowers, the vitality of youth. The whole universe will smile when your eyes smile."
Thich Nhat Hanh
Join One Another for a nurturing day of practice and fellowship in a truly beautiful setting. Our spirits can be lifted, and our hearts healed, with the sounds of bird call, the sweetness of pine air, and the freshness of smiles shared with each other and with other woodland species.
We will have 2 Groups : those engaging in Forest Bathing; and those who are practicing a more traditional Day of Mindfulness in Nature. Group schedules will overlap, but the two will unite in mid-afternoon for Sharing and songs, and together enjoy an early dinner (or late lunch!) potluck around 2:30-3:00 PM. We will end by 4:30 PM.
Martha O'Grady & Charlie Yuill will lead our earlier attendees in a 2.5 hour Program beginning at 11:00 AM. Our DOM Group will begin at the Pavilion around Noon. See our FULL SCHEDULE here.
Children are very welcome as part of our DOM Group. Chad Daversa and Margaret Mahoney are developing activities specifically for them. Indeed, the children may help us all reconnect to nature, joy and wonderment. They may be our teachers!
Let Us Know You Are Coming and In Which Group: Please complete this Sign-Up if you have not done so already.
Linn Run State Park is about 1 hour southeast of Pittsburgh in the beautiful Laurel Highlands. We will be in the Adams Falls section, which offers a more rustic, closer-to-nature experience than we had at Monroeville Park last October, while still offering a gentle walking and meeting space with Pavilion, restrooms, water fountains and more. Here are more detailed Directions. You may also wish to download this PDF of the Park. LET'S CARPOOL! Perhaps the biggest gift we can offer Mother Nature, and one another, is to carpool. We can lower our carbon footprint; save gas; and also get to know one another better. Please consider completing this CarPool Tool! NOTE: if you wish to carpool, please wear a mask to help protect one another. |
