We are here to awaken from our illusion of separateness

Dearest Friends, Old & New:
We find ourselves living with a reality today that, until recently, few of us could have imagined. In a true illustration of our interbeing nature, we are aware that gathering and connecting in-person would place many of us at risk of grave illness. And so, like so many of the good-hearted people and organizations we all interact with, we have chosen to practice and connect virtually.
Our Tuesday night sittings will continue, but in an on-line format that can also be accessed by telephone. Our South Hills Monday Night Sangha is also invited to attend the Tuesday sessions. If you are new to us, and wish to participate, we ask that you first connect with our Orientation group via the Join Us! page. They can help you understand what to expect and answer any questions you might have.
Our first virtual sangha was held Tuesday, March 17th. Eighteen members attended, and we had a wonderful, uplifting gathering led by Patricia (Red) Redshaw. Red offered a Guided Meditation and other readings to bring us back into the peace and stability of our practice. Then, for 30 minutes, we broke into three sharing groups of 6 persons, a feature available in the software. The sharing groups were very rich! We have also canceled our spring retreat, but will have some form of a Day of Mindfulness on May 9th (TBD).
We know that many of you are staying home, without even the contacts that work or school would provide. With great kindness and concern, we ask you to avoid isolating yourself. Please join us in our virtual practice sessions on Tuesday nights. These gatherings are a nourishing and calming chance to connect. We also encourage you to use this time wisely, to cultivate mindfulness instead of fearfulness, and to treat what fears and difficult emotions do arise with tenderness and loving-kindness.
May all be safe, may all be well.
Additional Resources for You
Aware of the importance of supporting and nourishing our collective practice in these challenging times, we encourage everyone to continue your practice of mindfulness at home, and with our Online sangha. We are exploring other online ways to continue to share our Plum Village teachings with all of you.
You may like to download the Plum Village App (with guided meditations, relaxations, and teachings); listen to our Plum Village podcast with recent Dharma Talks or watch them on our Youtube channel. More information about online Dharma teachings and webinars will be announced shortly. To be notified, you can subscribe to the Plum Village newsletter.
Stay Fresh in these challenging times. Your Freshness is the greatest gift. It emits the fragrance of freedom and non-fear. We all need that now. _((l))_
